in force since August 2026

Threk is in closed testing. This text describes faithfully what the service does today, but it was not drafted by a lawyer and will be reviewed before opening to the public.

Who handles your data

The data controller is whoever runs Threk. For any request: privacy@threk-app.com.

What we collect

  • Your email address. It is the only way to sign in: there are no passwords, you get a code every time.
  • Your leaderboard name (handle and, if you pick one, a display name) and, optionally, your country.
  • Your year of birth. Used only to check the minimum age of 16. It is never shown to anyone.
  • Your attempts: which challenge, when it started and ended, the work you declared, the score we computed.
  • The video of the attempt, when you choose to record one.

We do not collect your location, we use no advertising trackers, and there are no third-party SDKs watching what you do in the app. The usage figures we look at are counts derived from the data above, and they stay on our servers.

What is public

The leaderboard is worldwide and public inside the app. Other people can see your leaderboard name, your country if you gave one, your attempt results and the video of the attempts that have one.

Never public: your email, your year of birth, and the attempts you choose to withdraw.

The videos

The video is what makes the leaderboard credible: without it a result is just a claim. That is why it is recorded inside the app and cannot be uploaded from your gallery.

  • You record only if you want to. Without a video the attempt still ranks.
  • You can withdraw an attempt at any time: it leaves the public leaderboard and its video is deleted.
  • Videos of attempts that are not approved are deleted automatically after 30 days.
  • Moderators watch the videos to count reps and check the execution.
  • Filming other people without their consent is not allowed: you are responsible for who ends up in shot.

Where the data lives

The database is in Europe. Videos are on Cloudflare R2, in a European region, in non-public storage: they can only be watched through temporary links generated by the app. Sign-in emails go through Resend.

For how long

Account data stays while the account exists. Videos that are not approved are deleted after 30 days; approved ones stay as long as the leaderboard entry does. Sign-in codes are valid for a few minutes and work once.

Your rights

You can access your data, correct it, delete it and ask for a copy. Deleting your account is done inside the app, from your profile: it removes the account, the attempts and the videos. It is immediate and cannot be undone. For anything else, write to privacy@threk-app.com.

If you believe your data is not handled properly you can contact your national data protection authority.

Minimum age

Threk is for people aged 16 and over. Below that we would need the consent of whoever holds parental responsibility, and we do not yet know how to collect it.
